Is That The Sound Of Nero’s Fiddle?

We take our lives for granted. We used to believe that we had something special in this country, and it was worth defending. Now I am not really sure what we believe. As Afghanistan becomes a killing field for our troops, Iraqi resistance is rekindling, Pakistan is sliding into war and Iran keeps pushing us around our administration our answer is to talk about how outraged we are, yet we do nothing to stop it.
What will wake us up and make us stand for something again? We used to be last beacon of true Freedom in the world. Now, more and more, we are becoming a nation that has lost its moral compass and we are just drifting with all the other nations unable to find our way. While Obama is busy signing Hate Crime bills disguised as a defense spending bill, and making no headway on sending troops as the field commanders are begging for, our soldiers are dying. How can you sleep at night Obama???
When politician run wars nothing good happens. Johnson and Nixon in Vietnam and Bush in Iraq. Now Obama is going to decide what is best for the men and women on the ground. Not what the generals and field commanders know will work. Politicians don’t win wars, soldiers do.
Do the right thing Obama… Please don’t allow our troops to die in vain. It is better to live one day as a freeman than a lifetime as a slave.
