Ike Victims Still In Peril

As Ike was coming I couldn’t help but wonder WHY would anyone stay on an island with a major hurricane coming. I mean usually it is only a couple hundred people who choose to “Ride” out the storm. The estimate this time is possibly 140,000. The emergency centers in and around Galveston Bay are being inundated with those who are able to call for help. There are countless more who have no ability to call out.

The human side of me feels sorry for these people, the realistic side of me wonders in disbelief how someone could do that to themselves or worse their family. There are rescue operations underway and will be for weeks to come according to the Texas governor.

I am surprised the Obama campaign isn’t helping rescue people. These have to be Obama supporters. Hell that’s at least 140,000 votes in the bag for him.
