Florida wildfires Over 160 homes have been destroyed by a wildfire that continues to burn in Brevard County on Central Florida’s East Coast. The fires have spread until there are over 108 separate fires currently burning over 3800 acres.

The fires in The Palm Bay area are for the most part under control, the big one in Malabar is still raging on. Authorities suspect arson.

Gov. Charlie Crist toured the area where he has declared a state of emergency. Federal officials Brevard wildfireTuesday authorized funding to reimburse the state’s firefighting costs in Brevard County.

We at the Tampa Pirate hope they catch the arsonist, and pray for the people who are affected and the firefighters risking their lives.
