Politicians Pick On Fred Thompson’s Wife
Published by The Tampa Pirate July 14th, 2007 in 2008 Elections, Follywood, Fred Thompson, GovernmentApparently the politico’s here have nothing of real substance to pick on Fred Thompson about so instead they are now picking apart his wife. The NYT’s wrote the first article about Jeri Kehn Thompson (40), who has been married to Mr. Thompson (62) since 2002, calling her a “trophy wife” they criticized her “youthfulness, permanent tan and bleached blonde hair” and wonder if “so-called values voters” would “accept this union.” Even Joe Scarborough, a Republican pundits and host of Scarborough Country joined in the fray. He compared Kehn to a stripper and asked if “she works the pole.” I wonder how much of this trash talk is just sour grapes because when these guys look at their wives most of them look like they ate the pole, or work the street corner “cleaning” the pole.
Mrs Thompson is accomplished in her own rite. She is a political media consultant who previously worked for the Senate Republican Conference and a prestigious Washington law firm. She has accomplished a lot and just because she is prettier than most of the candidates wives and Hillary doesn’t make her this empty headed bimbo.
It is very funny that the Nazi organization NOW and the liberals who scream women should be accepted for who they are would be joining in on this chorus of hypocrisy. I wonder if it is also some jealousy. Susan Estrich who is no looker by anyone’s definition wrote a scathing op-ed entitled ‘Beauty and the Beast.” In it she tries to create the notion that American women so petty that they would not vote for Thompson simply because he has a younger wife. If that is a person’s reason for deciding whether or not to vote for a candidate than women should not have the power to vote.
I believe that women, like men care more about the issues than by appearance and sex appeal. I think that most people vote for candidates based on issues that are important to them. I am tired of women being degraded by Follywood and Madison Avenue and allowing themselves to be degraded. Women have more depth than advertisers and liberals give them credit for.
If politicians want to make beauty a sin, than I think they should also make ugliness a sin. If they did that though many of the politicos would be screwed especially Hillary. Lets stop being petty, we have a war on terrorism, Islamofascist trying to destroy us, major immigration problems, the economy and a myriad of other problems. Lets focus on the issues.

If the Republicans don’t pull together and get over their contentious fight over truly unimportant issues, we’re going to be handing the White House over to a Dem in 2008.
The only truly important issues on the table are terrorism and Islamic Imperialism and border issues. Everything else will take care of itself.
I just posted on this.
Incognito,
I couldn’t agree more. These endless battles about nonsensical issues will be the death of the RNC in 2008. If the RNC wants to start winning elections they need to take their message straight to the people. That is the long and short of it.
I will check out your post.
Peace
