The more shenanigans the politicians pull to divert focus from real issues the more apathy we can expect in the electorate. Even things like voting machine problems and election fraud generate less outrage and more feelings that a vote doesn't count, all of which plays into the status quo politicians. The smaller the voter pool the easier it is to manipulate the results through propaganda and misdeeds, and the harder it is to effect change. Change won't effectively come until there is some catalyst to wake up folks that something has to be done. A galvanizing, charismatic Presidential candidate might help, but I fear it will take something a bit on the catastrophic side that hits people at home before we see real change. I hope that I'm wrong. WP

It would be really nice if Congress stopped playing politics and actually did something for the country other than just bicker and call each other names. They seem to forget that running the country is their primary duty; not slandering their fellow members of Congress. This is why their rating is so low.
