Still No New Leads In The Trenton Ducket Case
Published by The Tampa Pirate March 13th, 2007 in Crime, Florida, Tampa
Trenton Duckett was 2 when he disappeared over six months ago. Police have found alot of circumstantial evidence, but there have been few leads. Melinda Duckett, Trenton’s mom killed herself a couple days after being grilled by Nancy Grace on CNN, and with her she may have taken the secret to where is Trenton is with her. She was the prime suspect in the case, but the police didn’t arrest her, if they had maybe they would have a living suspect they could
interrogate.
Trentons dad, Joshua Duckett, has set up his own command center called Team Trenton with the help of some local buisnesses, and they are still hoping Trenton is found alive. HERE is one of their sites. HERE is another.
Melinda was a very complex, but confused girl. Investigators say her behavior when she was alive was very suspicious. When police arrived at their apartment they found some interesting things. Trenton’s toys, clothes and sonogram pictures were found in a dumpster behind her apartment. They also found a place in the wall that had been recently patched, and they found some bed clothes with what appeared to be blood stains. There was no real follow-up on the stains. They also discovered something very troubling. She apparently had been running an
adult business out of her apartment. Police found nude pictures, videos and they know that she sold at least a few of them through an out of state adult video website. According to detectives on one of the tapes you can hear Trenton crying in the background. The police ruled out any connection between the disappearance of Trenton and the adult videos, but Team Trenton invesigator P.A. Turner is trying to find records of the people who purchased the videos.
“That’s a risky proposition to place yourself in the position of selling adult entertainment as an individual where it can be traced back to you,” Turner said. “If she is conducting this activity and Trenton is in the home, that would raise questions of who else was available in the home.”
Apparently she wasn’t alone on the tapes either.
“Although detectives have ruled out any connection between the Web site and Trenton’s disappearance, authorities acknowledge they never interviewed the Web site operator saying, ‘We didn’t need to,’” DeForest said.
“If there are other parties involved in the video, then naturally those are individuals who, for lack of a better term, have an intimate relationship with Melinda — we don’t know who those people are and what their background is,” Turner said.
There are also some other theories. One being is that she gave Trenton to someone else so that her estranged husband, Joshua, couldn’t have him. She had been involved in a very nasty custody battle over Trenton. You can read the DCF records HERE. There is even some thoughts that she may had sent Trenton to South Korea to be adopted. You can read the whole story HERE.
Well that is about it. You can check my earlier posts for some other info, like her MySpace page, video of her interview with Nancy Grace and other things. I am including some info I got from another site that has copies of her suicide notes, big hat-tip to them. I really hope and pray that Trenton is still alive and that he can be reunited with what is left of his family.

Wow, Pirate. I think this case is a lot more complex than I originally suspected. I will hope & pray with you that Trenton can return to his family.
P.S. What do you think of Nancy Grace’s actions?
Daydreamer,
It is a true mystery, I hope and pray that he will be reunited with his dad. As far as Nancy Grace, I believe she far overplayed her hand. Her actions were for ratings. I don’t think Melinda is innocent, but I do believe that Nancy should have let the police do the interrogating.
Thanks for commenting.

What’s a Scurvy Dog? A Scurvy Dog is an old pirate term defined as follows:
scurvy dog skur’ve n dog n - Pirate talk for a vile; mean; low; vulgar; contemptible person.
I have decided.[...]
Hey Pirate, What got me going about this is that this lil boy’s grandpa is a former sheriff of a small florida town who is imprisoned for a murder of a child that many people feel he could never have committed and when you read about it — well, it DOES seem pretty trumped up. So, I wondered if the circumstances of this case seem a bit too close to home to be quite what they appear to be,
I was pretty surprised by the mom but never had a good feeling about her but that is because of the MSM slant and you never really know what you’re getting. I wish I remembered more about what I read about Grandpa but it was back at the time of actual abduction.
The facts around Grandpa’s case are very strange. Sounds like a classic setup like grandpa stumbled on the wrong thing and someone set him up to shut him up. And so I couldn’t help but wonder if this sad case is the continuation of that.
Well — I’m going to read your back stuff on this but I am out of time. see ya soon
