Boycott Estee Lauder - Gwyneth Paltrow Is Not Only A Liar She’s A Hypocrite

I wrote a post yesterday giving Gwyneth Paltrow the benefit of the doubt when she said she was misquoted by a Portugese newspaper. The paper claimed she made Anti-American comments. Gwyneth says she is 100% pro-American. Well, a sharp reader sent me some info to show I was wrong. 100% wrong. Paltrow is a liar and a hypocrite. Lily, the sharp reader, pointed out that Paltrow had made these comments in other publications. Looks to me like the Portugese newspaper plagiarized the comments, but she made them none the less.

On February 10th, 2006 in an interview with FemaleFirst.com.uk Paltrow was quoted as saying:

“Brits are far more intelligent and civilised than Americans. I love the fact that you can hail a taxi and just pick up your pram and put in the back of the cab without having to collape it. I love the parks and places I go for dinner and my friends. It’s a pretty city, you know”

On January 27th, 2006 in an interview with Emma Brockles of the Guardian UK she talks about America’s capitalism:

As she sees it now, she spent her 20s working too hard, never saying no to anything and succumbing to “the bad side of American psychology”. When she ditched university to become an actress, she was just so amazed to find work that she didn’t stop working until she was “totally burned out”. She first came to England in 1995 to make the film Emma, then returned for Sliding Doors, Shakespeare in Love and Possession.

“I love the English way, which is not as capitalistic as it is in America. People don’t talk about work and money; they talk about interesting things at dinner parties. I like living here because I don’t tap into the bad side of American psychology, which is ‘I’m not achieving enough, I’m not making enough, I’m not at the top of the pile.’ It’s just kind of like, I am.”

Well, looks like she is now on the list of Follywoods fools, liars and hypocrits. I think that Estee Lauder should think twice about who they have as their spokesmodel. They want American’s to spend money on their stuff, but they have a spokesmodel who thinks our capitalism is bad. The Tampa Pirate is asking all Americans to boycott Estee Lauder and show them that American women are strong and don’t need all their products to be beautiful.
